Let's Play Some Pool

Tein joku aika sitten ilmoituksen muutamaan TFCD ryhmään, että kaipaisin uusia kuvia ja projekteja elämääni. Tarkoituksena oli tavata uusia kuvaajia, kokeilla eri tyylejä ja tutustua ihmisiin sekä saada rohkeutta ilmaista itseään ja toiveitaan tuommoisessa yhteisössä. Se ei kuitenkaan ihan nappiin mennyt, sillä yhteydenotot olivat kaikki pääkaupunkiseuduilla tai sen läheltä olevia kuvaajia. Vaikka ahkerasti käynkin Tampereella ja Helsingissä, ne ovat yleensä yhden yön pikareissuja burleski-tapahtumiin tai näyttelyihin eikä siinä ehdi ihan kuvaustakin yhdistää mukaan. Erityisesti vuorotyöläisenä joka saa yhden vapaan viikonlopun kuussa, joudun suunnittelemaan aikatauluni todella tarkkaan. Teen perjantaina aamuvuoron, jotta ehdin illan pakata ja mennä ajoissa nukkumaan. Lähtö on lauantaiaamuna yleensä 8-9 aikaan, joten herätys on 6 maissa. Ajomatka 4-6h. Laittautuminen hotellilla ja ilta tapahtumassa. Sunnuntaiaamuna hotelliaamupala, pakkaaminen ja ajomatka kotiin. Kesto sama 4-6h. Maanantaina iltavuoroon klo 13 tai 14. Se on yleensä aikataulu johon pyrin. Ja kyllä, se on väsyttävää, mutta haluan kulkea vaikkakin tiukalla aikataululla.

Kuitenkin sen verran oli tuuria, että Shirleyn silmään osui samoihin aikoihin ilmoitus, että Oulussa olisi kuvaustapahtumaa baarissa. Ilmoitin heti kiinnostukseni. Hetken pyörittelyn jälkeen löytyikin kuvauspäivä heti seuraavalle viikolle.

Alunperin meitä piti olla yhteensä 8, joista kolme ymmärtääkseni oli kuvaajia, yksi järjestäjä ja neljä mallia. Loppujen lopuksi meitä oli kolme mallia ja kaksi kuvaajaa. Aina uuden paikan ja kuvaajan kanssa tulee hakemista ja pohdintaa, miten toimitaan yksi yhteen. Ensin tapahtumaryhmässä oli todella hiljaista ja yritin pariin otteeseen kysyä järkkääjältä ja yleisestikin, kuinka toimitaan. Kukaan ei oikein tiennyt ja alkoi jo epäilyttää onko kyseistä kuvausta ollenkaan. Sitten yhtäkkiä edellisenä iltana alkoi armoton suunnittelu. Itse olisin henkilökohtasesti kaivannut perusinfoa; missä, milloin, ketkä kuvaa, portfolio, tyyli. Muuten en pahemmin harrasta erityistä suunnittelua, ellen itse erityisesti sano haluavani tietynlaista valokuvaa. Sain kuitenkin viestiä, että miten tehdä asennot ja ilmeet ja totesin tähän jonkun verran rivien välistä että ei oo ihan mun juttuni.

Noh kuitenkin homma meni ihan hyvin, sain muutamia kuvia heti parin päivän päästä ja kyllä niistä muutama oli ihan hyviäkin, vaikka alku olikin aika takkuista. Olen tottunut kovinkin erilaisiin kuvaajiin ja kuvaustyyleihin, jolloin mallin on erittäin suotavaa liikkua ja vaihtaa asentoa ja eläytyä paljon. Nyt piti vain tönöttää pitkiä aikoja samassa asennossa jolloin ehkä hyväksi todennettu eläytymisilme muuttui herkästi tuskastuneeksi, kun lihaksia särki . Mutta oppia, ikä ja kaikki. 

Ensimmäinen asu oli Pinup Girl Clothingin Deadly Dames malliston Misfits mekko pinkissä tiikerikuviossa. Halusin tätä mekkoa pitkään, mutta en raaskinut millään tilata sitä, kun en ollut varma sopiiko se mulle ollenkaan. Sitten yhtäkkiä nämä olikin superhalvalla myynnissä poistoalessa (49$)  ja nappasin pinkin heti vielä 10% lisäalella. Ja mekko oli superhyvä! Joustava, mutta samalla napakka paksuhko materiaali, todella miellytvä päällä. Myötäilee nätisti ja on myös hyvä syksyyn hihojensa ansiosta. Shirley väsäsi yhteensopivat korvikset ja pääsin vihdoin käyttämään myös mun Rimmelin Provocalips huulipunaa pinkkinä, jonka ostin hetken mielijohteesta, mutta en ole kertaakaan käyttönyt kun koin ettei se sovi mulle sitten yhtään. Näin se kuitenkin toimi hyvin!

Toiseen settiin toisen kuvaajan kanssa jatkoin tiikeriteemalla. PUGin Deadly Dames malliston Vamp kynämekko tiikerikuvioituna on ollut mun ekoja PUG mekkoja. Ostin tämän aikoinaan facebook kirppiksen kautta ihan vahingossa. Alunperin etsiskelin toista vastaavanlaista mekkoa ja kun tämä tarjottiin, ihastuin toki heti. Mekko on alunperin XL jonka edellinen omistaja pienennytti vastaaman kokoa L ja mitat osui juuri nappiin. Harmittelin kovasti kun en tästä ole pelkkää toppi versiota vielä löytänyt koossani,Joten tein niinkuin Miss Victory Violet monesti tekee ja vedin mekon päälle toisen hameen.

Tämäkin Deadly Damesin tekonahkahame oli heräteostos Topvintagen alennusmyynneistä. Halusin nahkaa, halusin Michelinen luomuksia. Tämän ylläpitäminen on vaan ihan kamala maanvaiva. Hame on todella pehmeää tekonahkaa, joten se on erittäin altis painaumille ja haavereille. Pukiessani sitä ekan kerran onnistun jo jättämään tasaiset kynnen jäljet vetoketjun molemmin puolin. Tätä ei myöskään saa laittaa normihenkariin painaumariskin vuoksi. Micheline itse sanoo pitävänsä näitä hyllyllä koko pituudelta makuultaan, mutta ei mulla ainakaan ees oo semmoista vaatekaappia jossa tämmöstä voisi edes harkita. Joten tein kuplamuovista pehmustetun henkarin ja laitoin hameen makaamaan kumpamuovin päälle. Heitin myös läpinäkyvän pussin hameen päälle, sillä materiaaliin tarttuu helposti myös muut värit. Huh huh! En tiedä, olisinko oikeasti ostanu tätä jos olisin tiennyt miten hankala tätä on pitää ja miten herkkä se on. Hameessa on myös silkkinen vuori alla, joten se on myös ihan järkyttävän hiostava ja kuuma päällä. Sopisi hyvin talveen.

I few weeks ago I desided to try my luck and leave a advertisement of my modeling on an facebook tfcd group. The idea was to meet some new photographers, get some new modeling material and overall just be more active as a model. Unfortunately it didn't go very well, because everyone who were interested and working with me were actually from around the capital and not at all even close to my hometown. Even though I do travel almost monthly to either Helsinki or Tampere, we mostly leave home early saturday morning, go to a show in the evening and drive back sunday morning after breakfast. So there isn't actually any time to arrange a photo shoot into those little hours. Only chance is that I would actually travel already friday, but it isn't really possible for me because working in the hospital, I mostly work friday mornings so I can leave for the weekend and I return to work monday morning or afternoon. And I've only got one free weekend every month.  And yes, it is kida tiresome to always travel to some show everytime i'm free for the weekend, but I love it anyway because you never know if there might come a time there just is no chance to travel anymore. 

But there was also a little bit of luck because at the same time Shirley discovered that some people from Oulu advertised a chance for workshops in their local bar. Oulu is just 2,5 hours from me so it was ok. I informed right away that I was interested and we got a chance to arrange a shoot for the next week. 

Originally there were supposed to be 8 people attending the workshop. The arranger, 3 photographers and 4 models. In the end there were only 2 photographers and 3 models plus the arranger. When you startworking with a new photographer and in a completely new enviroment it always takes time to get into each others speed, leanr each others style and find the golden path between two people and their ideas. At first our planning group online was very silent and I kept asking and asking if there were any info about the shoot, any systems we should be ready for but no one really answered to anything. And then suddenly the night before there was some major planning about how pleople should stand and put their arms and make their faces etc and I was like what the..? Because I don't really care for planning things like that. Of course if I really plan for some type of shoot I plan how I would wear stuff or stand but in situations like this where no one know no one and the place is unfamiliar, I would rather like to know who is the model, who is the photographer, how much there is time and where to leave my car. Having someone plan how I should perform in advance is not really my cup of tea and I made that clear. 

Overall everything wen't kinda ok and I got the photos in two days. Some of the were really good even though the beginning was kinda rocky. I've learned too well to work with photographers that are fast and need the model to change her poses many times. In this situation the photographers wanted us to ge slow, stand in poses for very long times making every single muscle ache like hell and maybe my face kinda show'd it too. But experience makes you better!

My first set of clothing was from Pinup Girl Clothings Deadly Dames.The dress was Misfits in pink tiger print. I dreamed of this dress for a while but didn't really get myself into buy it because i wasn't really sure if the style and color would suit me. But when the huge sales came and the dress was only 49 dollars I changed my mind and pressed buy. Also I got a 10% discount from even the original discount prize, so actually I was lucky to wait a while. And I'm really glad I bought it, because there was nothing to be afraid of. The dress fits like a glove, it's soft, stretchy and very curve hugging. And my pink Rimmel Provocalips lipstick wen't with it nicely even though at first I felt I could never wear pink lipstick. Shirley made also matching earrings for me. 

For the next photo shoot I chose to continue with Deadly Dames and tiger prints with the lovely vamp top I have learned to love so much. But actually I do not own a top, I own a tiger print vamp dress I bought from the spurr of the moment when a friend of mine asked me if I was interested. I've seen Miss Victory Violet combine skirts and dresses to make new combinations and desded to try it too. I combined my tiger print vamp dress with another Topvintage sale item, the Deadly Dames faux leather skirt in red. This was also a Spurr of the moment buy, because I just wanted some fake leather in my life. The skirt is really beautiful but really REALLY hard to take care of. The fabric is supersoft and easily eager to get into harms way. I mean for the first time I zipped it up alone I already got nail marks near the zipper. I've also seem many people complain that it gets torn very easily so I had to have it put on asoftened hanger and cover with a bag so it would not get colored bu other clothes. If I really knew that it would be this hard to take care of it I might have thinked one more time before my purchase. Anyway it's very warm to wear, so it fits maybe more to be an autumn skirt than summer skirt.
