Cece's Wonderland: The Blossoms of Burlesque

Saimme syksyllä tietää, että meidät on valittu Burlesque Blossoms- aloittelijoiden iltaan esiintymään helmikuussa. Tapahtuma on Ravintola Kaisaniemessä Helsingissä ja siellä olikin esiintyjälistauksessa myös muutamia muita tuttuja aloittevia burleskiesiintyjiä, joiden kanssa olen työskennellyt muunmuassa malleilun ohella tai joidenka esityksiä olen nähnyt Teerenpelin aloittelijoiden illassa, missä Shirley esiintyi debyytillään.

In the beginning of autumn we were informed that we were chosen to perform at Burlesque Blossoms -newcomer's night in february. The event will take place in Helsinki Ravinto Kaisaniemi and I noticed that there were also a few people I had worked with in my modeling or seen already on stage at Teerenpeli's newcomer's night where Shirley performed.

Heti kun saimme tiedon, että pääsimme mukaan esiintyjäkaartiin aloimme suunnitella vaatteitamme loppuun. Olimme onneksi jo aika pitkällä sen suhteen, mitä tarvitsemme; vain housut, alushousut ja viimeistelyt olivat vielä jääneet roikkumaan. Toki kun vihdoin saimme asun kasaan, tajusimme, että joudumme muuttamaan muutamia juttuja koregrafiastamme asuiden käytännöllisten syiden vuoksi. Näitä asioita tulemme nyt sitten treenailemaan melko ahkerasti tässä loppuvuoden ja erityisesti alkuvuoden ajan.

As soon as we got the good news, we started to fix the rest of our clothes for the show. Fortunately we didn't have much to do anymore, just to find pants and underwear and do some tiny fixing. Of course, when our costumes were finally ready, we noticed that we have to make some little changes in our choreography because of some things that didn't really work with our clothes. So the rest of this year and the beginning of next year will be practise, practise, practise..

Olimme alusta lähtien yksimielisiä siitä, että promokuvat esitykselle haluamme ottaa Wallineva Photographyn Mikalla Oulussa. Shirley järjesti kuvaukset lokakuun lopulle, viimeistelimme asut ja menimme kameran eteen. Olin melko hermostunut, erityisesti koska otimme kuvat molemmissa asuissamme ja ne toiset asut olivat erilaiset alusvaatekuvaukset, kuin mitä olen ennen tehnyt, sillä nyt ei ollu tmitään muotoilevia alusvaatteita pelastamassa kroppaani täydeltä paljastumiselta. Joka tapauksessa olen tyytyväinen kuviin (näette ne ensikerralla).

From the beginning we agreed that we wanted our promotional photos to be taken my Mika from Wallineva Photography in Oulu. Shirley arranged the photo shoot to the end of october and we got our costumes ready just in time for the photo shoot. I was a bit nervous because we took pictures in both costumes and the other costume shoot was different from any other lingerie shoots I have done, because there was no firm underwear. Anyway even I felt I exposed a part of myself I am not comfortable with, the pictures came out nice (you will see them next time).

Ensimmäinen settikuvia on siis tässä, olkaa hyvä. Meidän rekvisiitat jäivät kyllä nyt ihan tyystin kuvista pois, mutta jättääpähän jotain mysteeriä itse esitykseenkin.

So anyway, here is the first set. Our props are missing from the photos but we thought that it would be nice to leave some mystery into what our performance is about.

Housut ovat tosiaan SPR kirpputorilta miesten puolelta. En ehtinyt lyhentää omiani. Paidat ovat Halpa-Hallin poistomyynnistä. Ompelimme niihin tarranauhat sisäpuolelle, päälle puolelle oli tarkoitus tulla erittäin rumat keltaiset napit, mutta emme löytäneet sellaisia. Onhan tässä vielä aikaa, joten voimme lisätä ne myöhemmin, jos löydämme sopivat. Henkselit löytyivät Cybershopista.

The black pants are bought from Red Cross Finland. They are second hand pants from the men's section and unfortunately I didn't have time to hem them. The shirt is from Halpa-Halli's clearance. We sew a velcro inside it and wanted some yellow uglybuttons to put in the front, but unfortunately we didn't find any. Anyway there is still time before the show to add some if we come across something suitable. And the suspernders are from Cybershop.
